USING "REMOTE
ASSISTANCE" SYSTEMS TO HELP YOU DURING A PERSONAL
SUPPORT SESSION We do not make any additional charge to provide this support as we include this service as a part of the standard charge made for your Personal Support Session. WINDOWS XP (ONLY) If you are running Windows XP, and want us to use the "Remote Assistance feature provided as a part of XP, we are quite happy to do so. You will of course still need to be on the phone with our engineer as he does this, and he will advise you how you need to set it up on your machine, which really is not very difficult. If you happen to have any firewall system on your network, you may need to know how to open the single TCP port of 3389 to allow this Microsoft provided system to make the connection between your system and our own. We may also need to ask you for the external IP address of your internet machine. NON WINDOWS XP SYSTEMS If you running NetCFax on a NON Windows XP system, but would still like to take advantage of this "Remote Assistance" system, we can also do this through the use of a publicly available system called CoPilot provided by Fog Creek (www.copilot.com). This system is of course a commercial system, and does therefore make a small charge, but the charge for using CoPilot is currently only $9.95 for a full 24 hour period. If you would like to take advantage of this system, our engineer will be happy to guide you through the simple steps necessary to get this working, but this will only be provided once you have paid for the personal support session, and the (small) time involved will be counted as a part of your session time. The (current $9.95) cost for the CoPilot session will be your responsibility, but they accept all major credit cards and Pay Pal payments, which you will need to provide when you log on to the www.copilot.com web site. Once the two computers are connected using either of the above systems, our support technician will then be ready to go through whatever you want to discuss with them, or have them show you how or do, or even do for you. Before you make this call, please ensure that you are sitting at the machine on which NetCFax is running, and that you have the product serial #, the version you are running and it's license count information available.
