ALL VERSIONs - BUG FIX

After the NetCFax releases dated August, 2007,  a minor bug was identified that can be seen if you print a document to the fax printer, and you enter a different name for that file.  When you click the Save to cabinet button, the file was still saved correctly, but the "Forward by email" window was also launched.  Canceling that window caused no problems.

PRO+ ONLY - BUG FIX - Thumbs Viewer

After the NetCFax releases dated July 1, 2007,  a minor bug was identified on Vista systems only that is seen if you use the Thumbs Viewer to view a fax.  On initial loading, the image was sometimes not visible, but clicking anywhere in the window, or moving it would immediately display the image correctly.  The fax image is now displayed correctly on loading under Vista.

ALL VERSIONS - NEW FEATURE

We have added a new feature to the Fax Clients menu of the Fax Server (only) that lets you view most of the details of the login account for all/any logged in fax client.  This information includes the time they logged in, how long they have been logged in, plus their IP address, TCP port in use, and any department or group membership that account may hold.  A text report can be generated from the window and then printed if required.  Although all version of the fax server offer this feature, only PRO+ Fax Clients can obtain a copy of this report at any time by using the option provided on the admin menu of the Fax Client, but they can only do so if their NetCFax login account has administrator rights.

ALL VERSIONS - bug FIX - fax resending system

We have identified a potential problem that could occur when faxes were being resent form the server or from a fax client.  This only applied if these faxes contained additional fax pages, as it was discovered that the file these additional pages are stored in on the "could" be deleted when it was a Pending fax, or if you had the option to delete sent or failed faxes after being resent.

This problem has now been overcome.

ALL VERSIONS - NEW FEATURE ADDED TO FAX PURGING SYSTEM

Due to the way that the faxable data files that form the attached pages of any fax are held on the fax server, it is possible for a situation to occur where these files may not be removed from your hard disk, especially when a fax is resent, because it is equally possible that one or more other faxes may also be waiting or have already sent these same attached pages, so they cannot be deleted automatically.

To help you to ensure that the cabinet's Pending drawer does not get overfilled with these unused files, we have now added an option to the fax server cabinet purging system that lets you decide if you want a check made for any "orphaned" files of these types. If any are found that are not required by any faxes in the system, they are deleted by this system.

We have also now implemented the use of the Windows recycle bin for all purging operations, so if you have that option enabled in Windows, the files deleted by the purging operation will be saved in the Windows recycle bin.

PRO+ ONLY - BUG FIX - PDF generation of outgoing cover page only faxes.

We identified a scenario where cover page only faxes that were sent out may not have had PDF copies created correctly.  This problem has been fixed.

ALL VERSIONS - FAX CLIENTS ARE NO LONGER FORCED TO LOG OUT WHEN A PURGE IS IN OPERATION..

We have now changed the notification provided to the fax clients by the fax server when it is about to perform a fax purge. Because this may be an operation that takes a little while, the clients cannot be allowed to connect to or use the server until it has finished the purge.  The clients now receive a warning message, but are not logged out when a purge occurs, and they cannot work with the fax server until this message is closed (automatically) once the server notifies the clients of its completion.

Pro &
PRO+ ONLY - BUG FIX - Deletion of faxes by clients.

We identified that the settings on the fax server that allow the fax server administrator to limit the types of faxes that may be deleted was not working correctly.  This feature now works as expected.

ALL VERSIONS - Resending a fax

We have changed the way this works so that you can now specify the COM port/Modem to be used when resending a fax from a fax client as well as when sending new faxes.
