WHAT
DOES NETCFAX DO ?
(The basic overview) |
 |
Almost
everything
most business (& even home) users need from a fully networked fax system that
provides direct access to powerful fax capabilities from every
desktop on your network. NetCFax does not use email to
send and receive fax data between the clients and the fax
server, it uses direct TCP connections between the fax clients
and the fax server providing true real time access.
|
 |
NetCFax
will of course send and receive faxes totally
automatically, including queuing them as necessary, and allowing
you to schedule them for sending at a later time or date.
|
 |
Only the
fax server machine needs (one or more) modems, the fax clients do
not need a modem.
|
 |
NetCFax
will support as many modems as the Windows system the fax server
is installed on is able to support. We do not limit the # of
modems you may use, and we do not change our license cost if you
want to use more modems. Most standard Class 1, Class 2 and
Class 2.,0 modems are supported, including most standard multi
port boards, but we do not (currently)
provide support high end boards such as BrookTrout and others.
|
 |
The NetCFax
Server can be run on a Windows 2000 or 2003 server system or
a Domain controller if required, or it can even be run under a
Remote Desktop session if required. Only one instance of
the fax server can be run on any one machine.
|
 |
The
NetCFax Client can be installed on a Windows 2000 or 2003
server system or Domain controller, and then accessed and used
by multiple users using Remote Desktop Session if required.
It can also be installed on an
XP Pro system that has Fast Task Switching enabled, and can be
used by all of those accounts simultaneously.
|
 |
All of
the fax
clients can view, print, delete any fax held on the server,
providing the login account they are using has the relevant
access permissions.
The clients communicate directly with the fax server using TCP
and UDP, so there is no emailing of data back and forward
(unless of course you want to do this, which NetCFax also
supports via it's Email-to-Fax gateway)
|
 |
The NetCFax
server can be installed on any Windows PC, it does NOT need to
be installed on a "Server" version of Windows.
|
 |
Multiple
NetCFax servers
can be installed on your network if required.
|
 |
The fax
server can broadcast notifications to the fax clients (on the
local network) when
a fax is received, or even when a fax is sent, or fails to be
sent. Clients can choose to accept or ignore these
notifications.
|
 |
The NetCFax
server can forward received faxes via email. The
email address these are sent to can be controlled easily based
on various different conditions, such as the phone line it was
received on, the sender's fax identifier (CSID) or to a single
specified recipient, or even a list of recipients.
All email
handling is provided internally by NetCFax, so no other mail
system is required for this (other than a mail client or
networked mail server to receive
it with of course).
|
 |
The NetCFax
server can also email notifications of fax activity. All email
handling is provided internally by NetCFax, so no other mail
system is required for this (other than a mail client to receive
it with of course).
|
 |
Login
accounts can be created with many different access rights to
allow total control over the access to all types of faxes.
|
 |
Login
accounts can be limited by day or period of activity if
required.
|
 |
The NetCFax
clients (ONLY - the fax server does not have access to this) can
create and send faxes to what we call "BROADCAST"
lists. These are simply text flies containing multiple
lines, each of which contains the recipient's fax #, and
optionally the recipient's name and/or company. Each field
in these lines is separated form the next field with a semi
colon. Faxes can easily be sent to all members of a list.
The Fax client provides two powerful windows (under the Address
books menu) that let you create and maintain these lists quickly
and easily, including letting you select and add entries from
the address books, other lists etc.
|
 |
The NetCFax
clients can have their personal address books stored locally, or
on the fax server, which make them instantly accessible from any
fax client that you may chose to use.
|
 |
In
addition to their personal address books, the NetCFax
server's address book is provided to all fax clients
automatically when they log on, but fax clients cannot change or
delete entries in the server's address book.
|
 |
No email
server or other email system is needed to use NetCFax across
your network, as it DOES NOT USE EMAIL'S to send fax data
between the clients and the server. All data is passed using
direct TCP connections between the clients and server for
maximum efficiency.
|
 |
NetCFax
is a fully networked system that will work across any TCP/IP
based network system, including LAN's, WAN's, and even the
Internet itself, providing you with the most flexible
solution for any network topography you may want or need to use it
across.
|
 |
NetCFax
lets you assign access
to individual received faxes to any login account, or even to
all members of a complete access group. To protect the
security of the received faxes, the login account requires Full
Administrator rights to access this feature when working on a
fax client. You can also add identifying comments to each
received fax, and these are visible in the server and fax
client's fax cabinets.
|
 |
NetCFax
lets you forward (by
fax) any faxes that have been received from both the fax server
and the fax
client's fax cabinets.
|
 |
NetCFax
provides powerful ROAMING LOGIN PROFILES are available that let you use any available
fax client system and yet have it automatically configured with
all your own personal client settings and configuration options
by the fax server you login into.
This provide the maximum ease
of use and flexibility for anyone using the system.
|
 |
NetCFax
provides a powerful COMMAND LINE FAXING OPTION. This is a special command line utility module that accepts
several parameters, or a file that contains all of these
parameters. This is validated, and then all data required
is copied to the NetCFax server, which verifies the content and
then creates a fax and sends it.
|
 |
NetCFax
provides our own dialing rules system that lets you automate most of the
special dialing requirements your particular system may require,
down to a local or Toll area code level basis if necessary.
This overcomes the need for fax client users to have to know, or
even care what they should put in for the recipients fax number,
as the system will automatically add any required long distance
codes, outside line pauses etc according to the dialing rules
you supply.
|
 |
NetCFax supports
SAP/ERP in the Email-to-Fax gateways system. This
means that NetCFax will identify the recipients fax # in the TO
address line of the email header of messages created by SAP.
|
 |
NetCFax support for macro replacement in the cover page content
templates system to provide you with the ability to
"personalize" faxes very easily. NetCFax will check
for and identify the relevant macros and replace the macro text
in the cover page content with the correct data for you
automatically.
|
 |
NetCFax
provides internal support for the conversion (by making copies)
of received faxes to PDF files. We have also allowed
the email notifications system to attach these PDF files as an
option to attaching the original fax files (TIFF's).
|
 |
NetCFax
provides its own internal fax viewer that lets you size the
faxes to any size you wish, print them, and even save them as
PDF files. In NetCFax Pro v3.007 and later releases, there is
also a useful Thumbnails viewer that can be 'linked' to the
received faxes drawer, so checking all your newly received faxes
is quick and easy.
|
 |
NetCFax
clients are able to connect to NetCFax servers even if the
server is on a machine that uses a dynamic IP address (DHCP) by
using the option to always have the client perform a DNS lookup
when logging in initially.
|
 |
NetCFax
allows you to create user access groups that have specific
access rights such as limited hours, viewing received faxes or
not, or even blocked.
|
 |
NetCFax
allows you to create "Departments" that can have
received faxes sent to their own specific printer, based on the
COM port/modem/phone line the faxes arrive on, and these also
allow even more control over received faxes.
How this works is that if a user access account is assigned to
be a member of a department, they are allowed to view and handle
all received faxes that arrived on that mode (ONLY) . They
cannot view faxes received on any other modem.
|
 |
Received faxes can be
ASSIGNED TO INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS automatically by the fax
server, based on a check of the senders fax CSID. |

LIST REALLY DOES GOES ON AND ON..
