NETWORKED SOLUTION IDEAS We are quite often asked by our customers how they can use a networked fax system such as NetCFax to save the cost of international fax calls when sending what are as we all know rather slow and therefore expensive fax transmissions, Well, NetCFax offers a low cost and highly effective way to achieve even this difficult scenario. This is possible because unlike most other fax systems, NetCFax uses the industry standard TCP and UDP protocols for all communications between the fax server and the various fax clients, which means fax clients can connect to fax servers across any network that supports TCP, which of course, includes the Internet itself, so providing the client can connect to the fax server it wants to work with, anywhere in the world, it can use that server in exactly the same way as if it was on your own local network. (Quite naturally this assumes that the NetCFax server and the various NetCFax clients have some form of standard internet access, or possibly a WAN or other similar wide area connectivity via TCP) 2 - LONG DISTANCE PROBLEM (International) Your organization has offices and customers/contacts in different Countries around the world, and you want to be able to fax between them, or even send faxes to other people in those areas, without having to pay the international long distance charges every time you send a fax.
1 - SOLUTION

All that is needed to implement the above is to have a NetCFax server installation in your office or representatives location in each of the countries shown. Then you provide all users of the NetCFax client systems with the Internet name or the IP address of each one of these servers. These are simply added to the list of available servers in their NetCFax client installations, (in very much the same way that different Internet access gateway addresses are stored in their mail clients). All that any NetCFax client needs to do then is to connect to the Internet, have the NetCFax client connect to the NetCFax server closest to the required fax destination, create and send the fax, and it will be sent by that remote server in the destination country to the end recipients fax system. Because it is very possible and even most likely in this scenario that the time zones between the Fax server machine and the fax client may be different by several hours, NetCFax is intelligent enough to handle faxes that are marked to be sent immediately correctly, so that the remote server will send them as soon as received despite the time differences. You can even have the client display and use the local time of the fax server you are connected to, making it simple to schedule for later, or to know exactly what time it is is in that location.

Description of the above schematic This shows an imaginary organization that has offices or locations of some form in USA, Europe, Africa and other countries or continents. Each location in each each country installs a NetCFax server and each will be licensed to handle the number of concurrent client NetCFax systems that are likely to be connecting to them, (this is required to allow network user access accounts to be created on each NetCFax server). So lets now assume that someone in the sales office in the USA wants to send a fax to someone in Australia. They just run their NetCFax client, connect to the Internet, then select and login to the NetCFax server in the Australian location, and once they have created the fax, the NetCFax client will send it off across the Internet directly to the NetCFax server in Australia. The fax is received in Australia via the Internet (TOTALLY FREE). The NetCFax server in Australia then only has to make a much cheaper and probably shorter in-country call and send the fax to the recipients fax number. We think the chart above illustrates this concept quite well ? As can be seen each office can connect to any of the other offices at any time of the day or night using a standard Internet connection, and they can therefore use the services of the NetCFax server in any of those offices. In fact this might even be an engineer or sales person out on the road, or anyone else that needs to do this using their laptop, or of course you can even do the same thing from your own home as long as you have an internet connection. The only actual phone call made in this scenario is that made by the receiving NetCFax server (in Australia in this example) that sends the fax via its fax modem using a very much cheaper (in country) phone call.
