Naturally, NetCFax can receive faxes as well
as sending them out, and if you have perhaps only been using it to
send faxes, you may be a little unsure what settings need changing
to have it received faxes as well.
The first major option is at the
top right of the fax server window, in a frame labeled "Fax
Server Global Settings". You MUST first of all
ensure that you have the top option labeled "Server will
send and received faxes" checked.
The next thing to check is to
ensure that your fax modems are set to both send and
receive. You can see at a glance by checking the list of fax
modems that is at the top left of the main server window as shown
below :

As you can see in our list, we
have the modem on COM4 configured to only send faxes, so if we
want it to received faxes, we need to change that setting.
To do so, just double click that entry in this list, and the modem
configuration window as shown below will be displayed for this
modem :

Just check the radio button
option labeled "Send & Receive" and then
click OK. If you happen to have the modem disabled, you will
probably want to uncheck that option too.
Now the server is configured to
both send and received faxes, but you will almost certainly want
to configure some of the options we have provided for the handling
of the faxes you receive. To do so, go to the "TOOLS"
menu and select the option labeled "Received faxes
configuration options"
This opens a standard Window
property sheet that has 8 different tabs that between them let you
configure all aspects of the handling of your received
faxes, including making PDF copies, OCR scanning (NetCFax PRO+ ONLY) and all manner of forwarding options.
