Before you can use NetCFax to
send a fax, you quite often need to create the data that you want
faxed. This is usually such things as documents created in
Microsoft Word, or Excel or an accounting package or other
application.
To do so, as has been discussed
elsewhere in this information system, you need to use the
Print option provided by most applications, and to print the data
to our Fax Printer, which converts it into a faxable TIF file for
you.
However, we didn't think it would
be very helpful if we let you simply save these TIF files all over
the place on your hard disk, so we provide a single folder (by
default named \PRINTERFILES) in our own installation tree as the
folder for these to be saved in.
We also recognized that some
systems would prefer to have this data stored elsewhere, possibly
even on a network server, so that everyone has access to it.
Therefore you can change the folder at any time from the Printing
menu option - Set Fax Printer Destination Folder.
If you decide you want this to be
on a networked drive, just use the "..." button to
browse your entire network and select the folder you want
used. Also, please ensure that this folder allows FULL READ
AND WRITE access, or of course, NetCFax will not be able to save
the TIF files there.
If a networked folder is
selected, the speed of saving may also be slower than if it was on
your local hard disk as NetCFax has to save the data across your
network.
